The following rates are for example purposes. Final rates will be determined with an initial evaluation of the manuscript. The final rate varies depending on genre, length, writing quality, deadline, and other factors. Click through the services I offer below for a brief description.

Developmental Editing
A developmental edit is a critique of your manuscript as a whole. As the editor, I will be looking at the story side of your manuscript rather than a line edit or copyedit that looks more at the sentence structure and word use. I will provide you feedback on character, setting, plot structure, and themes that run through your manuscript. To sum it up, I will provide the following services with a developmental edit:

Examine all elements of the manuscript (plot, setting, character, theme, pacing, etc)

Provide in-line comments that reference clear examples of my feedback and real-time reactions to your story

An editorial report that summarizes the in-line comments, provides you with feedback and suggestions for revision, and describes what is working in your manuscript and should not be removed.

After feedback is given to client, I will provide additional support to answer questions and clarify given feedback. This support can be provided through email exchanges (up to 5) OR a 30 minutes video or phone chat

Manuscript Assessment
For manuscripts that may be a bit messy and not quite ready for a developmental edit, try a manuscript assessment instead!

Editorial Assessment
With an editorial assessment, I, the editor, will read your manuscript and provide you, the author, with an assessment report. This report will include areas where the manuscript could improve in regards to setting, character, pacing, and plot, as well as where the manuscript it working and should not be changed. To summarize, with an editorial assessment, the author will receive:

After feedback is given to client, I will provide additional support to answer questions and clarify given feedback. This support can be provided through email exchanges (up to 5) OR a 30 minutes video or phone chat

Structural Assessment
Are you concerned with your complex plot? Worried about plot holes, or mistakes with your plot twists and turns? With a structural assessment, I, the editor, will read your manuscript and provide you, the author, with a structure report. This report will include areas where the manuscript could improve the plot structure, as well as where the manuscript it working and should not be changed. To summarize, with a structural assessment, the author will receive:
